Module 6: The Second World WarThis decision has always been a sensitive topic to drop bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki throughout history. Some still argue that the bombings were necessary to end World War II and save lives while others condemn the actions of mass destruction. Also, it could be thought of as"saving lives." After considering the arguments presented in the textbook and the guide titled "Nuclear Bomb Arguments; For & Against " I personally believe that America had a reason, for dropping the atomic bombs. To begin with it is crucial to acknowledge the loss of life that would have ensued if the war had continued without resorting to these bombings. The battles highlighted in the textbook that and Japanese resistance characterized the Pacific theater of war. However, using atomic bombs cause immense suffering. The Japanese military was deeply entrenched. Displayed no indication of surrendering. Invasion plans estimated that hundreds of thousands of soldiers would have perished if they had to conquer Japan by force. By utilizing bombs, America effectively got the message to Japan.
