Patient's A advancing age makes her vulnerable and it will be discussed whether due to this vulnerability she is receiving the correct level of healthcare and identify what should be expected of a healthcare professional involved in the care of such a patient. Her health conditions not only affect her mobility and behaviour but can also be made worse by polypharmacy and medications making the adult less able to do different tasks and can lead to isolation and immobility. A's dependence on others for help and assistance could in turn make her susceptible to abuse.This essay will underpin the definition of an older adult being vulnerable and addresses the principles of dementia and other factors which contribute to the patient's vulnerability and the requirement for a complete holistic assessment.
