NEED OF THE HOUR - PRIVATE POLICE UNDER JURIDICTION OF LAW ABSTRACT This paper studies privatization of police force in United States without any civil liability. With exponential growth in crime, violence and terrors, Private Police came into the picture. Today, private police is holding double the number of public police in U.S. The issue focused in this paper deals with the unlawful authority they are using beyond the limits of jurisdiction without any accountability for their code of conduct. Moreover majority of private police is untrained, unlicensed and unskilled, posing a threat for individual and security firm. Absence of civil liability restriction on them encourages for abuse, brutality and illegal behavior Finally it suggests that proper training, accountability to the jurisdiction of law and civil liability will help in creating trust in the minds of community, thus making the social environment more peaceful and harmonious.
