They can cause extensive brain damage if hurt enough and or if’ they are not treated properly. Many student athletes throughout their careers have had a concussion at least once or twice . I chose this topic because nowadays a lot of these athletes try to play through concussions not knowing the damage that can come with that. They get so riled up trying to not waste the limited amount of time they have on the field and or court. A lot of classes and coaches are not shedding light on the issue at hand, they do not understand the severity of it either and just; want their players to play to help the team get along. Several researchers are still collecting information on whether concussions are connected to other mental illnesses that aren’t out in the light
