Several qualities of a transformative nurse leader make the leadership style appropriate for this unit, including influencing others to adopt the change, inspiring, motivating, creativity, communication, commitment, and confidence (Weber & Harrison, 2019). Kiwanuka et al. (2021) state that leadership styles in an intensive care setting can be transformational, considerate, trusted, exemplary, and absentee leadership. However, transformational leadership has the most benefits in terms of impacting healthcare staff and the working environment of a NICU. When implementing the intervention plan in the NICU, transformative change is required to increase the staff and parents capacities in delivering care and improving nursing practice. Actual transformative change can be achieved when the capacities of parents are increased to ensure time and commitment to kangaroo care (KC) and caregiving
