Among people under 34 years of age, suicide is the second highest cause of death; and the fourth leading cause for people under 55 (CDC, 2021). Approximately 47,000 successful suicides occur each year in the United States, which is the equivalent of one suicide every eleven minutes (CDC, 2021). Worldwide, the United States ranks 27th overall in the frequency of suicides; Lithuania ranks first; Russia ranks second; and the countries with the least number of suicides are in the Caribbean Islands, where suicides are very rare (World Population Review, 2021). Suicide is the 18th leading cause of death worldwide (World Health Organization, 2021),Contributing FactorsSuicide generally results from feelings of overwhelming hopelessness. Suicide seems to be the only way out for someone with suicidal thoughts. To this end, hopelessness can stem from numerous causes. Chronic depression and anxiety disorders can cause feelings
