Narrative or Descriptive: Is Narrative style of persuasive writing superior to Descriptive style?. “If you wish to persuade me, you must think my thoughts, feel my feelings, and speak my words.”--Cicero Yes, so true it is! I agree with great Cicero in saying that unless a write-up makes the reader feel its emotions and make the reader connect instantly, it cannot be so persuasive. And a narration serves the purpose almost always. A narration builds a rapport with the reader by involving the reader’s thought pattern by a pre-anticipated approach of the writer. And, when you get involved in something, you are already half-persuaded. That is why; Narrative style of writing is superior to Descriptive style of writing, from my point of view. As we know, Narrative style of writing involves storytelling from the narrator’s point of view, where the story may be true, false, and imaginary or a combination.
