(2018) gives a rundown of an experiment/study they did with 956 Chinese adolescents (Zhou et al., 2018, p. 365). The study aimed to separate Internet addiction (IA) from problematic Internet use (PIU) and examined potential factors/correlates (Zhou et al., 2018, p. 365). These factors are individual, parental, peer, and sociodemographic. The study found that IA, PIU, and non-PIU are significantly different. PIU and IA could be differentiated (Zhou et al., 2018, p. 366). Individual factors refer to the amount of craving and preoccupation the adolescent experiences. Parental factors refer to how the adolescents’ parents feel about their child's Internet use. Peer factors pertain to the adolescent’s perception of the quality of their friendships and acceptance of others. Socio-demographic characteristics include gender, parental education levels, occupation, income, and social status (Zhou et al., 2018, pp. 366-368).There is
