Several pertinent articles were identified on similar quality improvement educational programs implemented in other settings and populations as well as guidelines specific to venous access in both the oncology population and the general population. The literature search did produce a multitude of articles specific to the knowledge needed to produce the solution, including articles on the subject of venous access device selection, venous access device complications, and venous access device advantages and disadvantages in the oncology population. The articles reviewed were of various levels of quality and strength. Many of
