The adaptation concept in the modeling and role-modeling theory comprises of person, environment, health, as well as nursing (Moule, Aveyard and Goodman, 2016).The person is a social being who is always interacting with the changing environment. The environments are all the circumstances and situations surrounding a person (Barker, 2015). Health is a process of making a person whole and integrated while nursing promotes adaptation. The definitions provided by other nurse theorists as covered in this course show both similarities and differences. They see the person as not only having social but also cognitive and biophysical systems.
