The Dobe Ju'hoansi, like all civilizations, have their society and livelihood, their language, customs, and history as a people. However, there is something that stands them aside from the rest. These individuals come from a long line of foragers and gathers. Dr. Lee was fascinated by the Dobe people by the simple fact that there were still individuals that lived the same way that was everyday life around 12,000 years ago. Some would say that these individuals were forgotten by time. Modern humans evolved from their ancestors; foragers who followed all the important human institutions formed over four million years ago. Were all humans survived by hunting and gathering, such as the Dobe. The Dobe, also known as the Dobe Ju'honsai, is a group of one of the few remaining groups that still live in the ways of foraging and hunting and overall living in the same livelihood of their ancestors.
