Personal Vs. Professional Values

Tutor Course Date Personal vs. Professional Values Individuals are different in the way they are brought up since they tend to embrace the environment, in which, they became raised. Different individuals act differently emanating from the culture that they have. Being brought up in a firm Christian foundation, I feel that it will be remarkably difficult treating non-Christians in the same manner as Christians. According to my personal opinion, individuals, who are not Christians tend to get involved in sinful acts and do not deserve any nice treatment. When working as a social worker, it will be a struggle trying to provide services to non believers. However, since the ethical principles of social workers emphasize on helping people in need by ensuring equality of opportunity, I have to treat non believers and believers the same without any discrimination. Because of the ethical principles followed by social workers, I will feel remarkably cozy working with a client that identifies as gay. Although personal values may make me not work with such a client, professional values will make me work with the client.
