Weekly Journal Entry For a very long time, I believed that all human beings believe thing in the same way when presented with the same information. It is therefore not surprising that, I was always wondering why students taught by the same teachers, and reading the same books always have different answers when asked the same question. However, I was really surprised by week 3 readings. The readings were an eye opener that, what we see or hear is filtered through whom you are, and that each person has a different perspective. I also learned that, our perspective changes when we get additional information about the situation. While reading Saki’s The Open Window and Sojourner Truth’s Ain’t I a Woman? then later listening to the stories, I realized that my perspective had changed. When reading a story, I try to relate the characters and the scenario with the things and people that I am familiar with. Since such occurrences do not happen often in my locality, it is hard to believe that the story is real. The same does not apply when I actually hear the audio or watch the video version of the stories. It is therefore true
