Socialization of Criminal Justice ProfessionalsLike in any organization police have a special way of socialization that either enhance or compromise their ability to serve the criminal justice system. New recruits find themselves absorbed into the police way of doing things. The ones that resist the change find themselves isolated, resulting in job dissatisfaction, workplace bullying and stress (Britz, 1997). Among the police cultural values include sticking together at all time as a sign of brotherhood. However, police culture is largely to blame for the failure of the department to deal firmly with crimes within the department.
