Unit 10 Discussion Topic: ReflectionNursing theories have played a significant role in my work as an advanced practice nurse in acute care. They are the foundation and cornerstone of the nursing profession. I believe that nursing theories influence practice by providing the principles that form a foundation for nursing practice. I also believe theories help in the generation of more nursing knowledge. For nursing practice to be effective, knowledge and skills have to be applied in-order to care for patients (Saleh, 2018).
