Dear Carol,Thank you for your post. Peplau’s theory of interpersonal relations is important in nursing practice because it measures patient experiences once they enter the health system. It also measures the nurse-patient relationship. Peplau asserted that the focus of nursing should be patients, their needs and perceptions of the care they are receiving (Hagerty, Samuels & Gigliotti, 2017). This theory gives an important indicator of the type and quality of care patients receive because nurses contribute enormously to a patient’s experience. The C-T-E structure that you used to formulate your theory is the best for capturing patient experiences. Interviews provide first hand information from the sample population and the researcher can record both their verbal and non-verbal cues. This method is good in recording patient experiences in the healthcare system and the results can help practitioners improve their services.ReferencesHagerty, T.A., Samuels, W., & Gigliotti, E.
