Project: FEMA challenged the public to share ideas for community-based activities to help everyone prepare for disaster.Project Description:Disaster and national development are dependent. More often, the country has embarked on security development in the expense of disaster management. This project aims at identifying mechanisms and ideas on how communities and the government can collaborate to play down the effects of a disaster. This involves designing and testing methods for disaster awareness at a community level. In other words the project will seek to train communities on how to prepare for disasters and get back to normalcy following a disaster. The project success will be dependent on the level of cooperation between public services providers, business, institutions, the private sector and individuals. The media will play a significant role in public education and program coordination.
