Assignment: will attempt to convince Joe to accept the offer for a position in product management given the importance of the terabit router to Robust Routers; will promise to help him make a move to business development after he has been at RR for some time.Signing bonus: there is flexibility over this issue, but there is concern about the precedent that might be set if paid Joe a much higher bonusRelocation: prefer a one off amount rather than to assume responsibility for open-ended costs of relocation package.
