Understanding Business Research Terms and Concepts: Part 2RES/351Institution:Abstract Quantitative research technique focuses on objective measurements or mathematical analysis of experimental data collected through various tools and techniques. Various data collection instruments and sampling methods are applied. This paper will analyze the following qualitative sampling instruments; Tests, Questionnaires, Observational Data and Interviews. The paper seeks to identify the pros and cons of each of the above data collection instrument. Through the analysis the paper will identify suitable scenario for each of the above tool. The paper is based on qualitative research articles sourced from stayer university library.Sampling Methods Sampling is a process involving the selection of a subset of subjects (sample) from the population of study whose characteristics can be used to make generalization on the entire population. The selection of the sample is done through probability and non-probability methods of sampling (Creswell, 2003). Probability method of sampling is used in quantitative research as it is argued that random events are predictable and the researcher can make comparison between random events and his results. These sampling methods include simple random sampling, stratified sampling, cluster sampling and systematic sampling. The advantage of using probability
