1. Hofstede identified some important dimensions of culture that impact cultural differences and organizational practices. based on these differences the organizational practices within various cultures may also differ. It depends on how much importance a certain culture places on a certain dimension. For example in a high power distance country like Malaysia, meetings generally take place behind the closed doors only with the top management. Similarly, in societies with high individualism, group cohesion is often low and so special attention has to be paid to individuals in terms of compensation, task distribution etc. The opposite is true regarding societies with low individualism. However, yes, there are certain leadership behaviours, attributes and organizational practices which can be effective across cultures. Some leadership styles like charismatic, participative and team oriented are found to be universally acceptable.2. Apart from Hofstede, there are two theories of cross cultural management that were given by Hall and hall and by Fons Trompenaars. Hall and Hall's theory suggests that it is cultural communication which is essential for ,successful cross cultural management. On the other hand Hofstede suggested that it was understanding the various dimensions of culture. Hall and Hall described mainly two important aspects of
