Consequently, Neoliberals believe that the Adam’s Smith theory on leaving demand and supply unencumbered can successfully be adapted to address the worse economic problems in the contemporary world (Held, & McGrew, 2007). Neoliberalism predominated policies circles in Latin America in late 1980s and through the early 1990s. In the early 2000s, neoliberalism dictum lost ground, although it is unclear whether its intellectual rivals displaced it entirely. Early neoliberalism roots were laid down by Jimmy Carter’s administration in the early 1970’s, with deregulation of the trucking, banking and airlines industries. This trend continued with various government administration such as Reagan administration in USA (Aguila, 2001). Consequently, various presidential candidates have most of the time used the neoliberalism theory to flag their campaigns, such are, but not limited to Gary Johnson. Gary Johnson is best known for his political ideology on tax reduction and support of free trade.
