Workshop 5 discussionMy strategy of finding viable interviewees was to go to a park where people often come to walk their dogs, jog or exercise. I chose this strategy because, I would like to have lengthy conversations with pet owners or people who are looking forward to have a pet, and have ideas that I did not have in mind. In the park, people have more time to talk to strangers with whom they share similar interests, compared to the busy streets or buildings. I would not like to appear interrogative as that might turn of some of the interviewees, or make some want to lie. Therefore, I will hide the important questions within a different story that is more interesting to the respondent. The insight that I gained from the workshop is choosing the right location to conduct the interview. People become more open when they are feel that they have something in common with the interviewer, such as the love of exercise, nature and pets.
