Module 4: Discussion 1 -- Excel and TemplatesThe template I selected was: Household monthly budget. I selected the template because household budget can be tedious to prepare. To customize the template, I would first enter the items that I normally buy in the item list. Next I will need to add savings as part of my planned expenditure. Apart from the item list, I will make the template do more than just compute the totals and the differences. For example I will have a column to show the percentage of each expenditure against my gross income. This was I will be able to track which items am more important and also enable me to determine how to adjust my future expenditure. To add the percentage expenditure column, I would use the excel formula ((=actual cost/ total monthly income)*100). I will then Drag the Auto fill option to copy and paste the formula through other cells. The Total percentage should be 100 and I will set the auto sum formula to do the calculations. If the sum is greater than 100, then I will need to make some adjustments to my expenditure. A sum above 100% means that my expenditure exceeds
