Discussion 1: Should You Believe a Statistical Study?Should we believe a statistical study or not? Definitely, statistics is one of the few tools that there is to model and explain the real word. Considering the extent of data that is out there, it is only through statistics that we are able to model and make prediction. In a report named “Global social media research summary 2018” By Dave Chaffey, it is evident that there has been a shift in social media preferences among various demographic clusters. The report claims that Facebook and Twitter are loosing popularity among the younger generation while snap chat continues to gain traction. The Goal and Population of study was clear and therefore removes most uncertainties. For instance, the report states that the number of users worldwide in 2018 is 4.021 billion, up 7 percent. It is likely that these figures are real data gathered through various platforms and user registrations in the social media websites. However, the data is not without errors as we know that some people have multiple accounts while others have fake accounts. To make up for such errors, the report should define some error margins or give their level of certainty implicitly.
