The Obesity Epidemic In Children Current

Current status of obesity epidemic: More than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) have been found to be obese. The obesity prevalence of 30% or more in a number of states has increased to 12 states in 2010. In 2009, nine states had obesity rates of 30% or more. In 2000, no state had an obesity prevalence of 30% or more. Patients can raise healthy children through exercise most importantly. Physical activities can be encouraged to make it a part of the lifestyle. Healthy eating can be encouraged focusing more on fresh fruits, raw and green vegetables and lean meats over processed products. Junk foods with little nutritional value should be gradually eliminated. There should be great focus by the schools on these healthy lifestyle choices in much the same way. For all skill levels exercise should be encouraged and nutrition should be a priority over cost when it comes to school food availability.
