Diffusion of Innovation In the world today, innovations are made from time to time in every sector especially the health sector. People react differently to these changes due to personal reasons or even influence. There are those who will consider the change effective while others will term it as disruptive innovation since it might be interfering with their way of life (Yano et al 2006). A good example of the rationale of diffusion of innovation, is the introduction of retail clinics in USA which aroused mixed reactions among the citizens. Some people considered it as an invention to outdo the existing health culture. Not many citizens were comfortable adopting the use of retail clinics for healthcare. It can be considered synonymous to the old is gold saying, this might be attributed to the fact that people always want to cling on the old and not adopt what is new. On the other hand, lack of knowledge may also lead to the reluctance. Many citizens adopted the new change and were able to reap the benefits of the services.
