The purpose of a web form is to gather information from users all over the world for various reasons. Perhaps a person wants to sign up for a mailing list to receive special promotions and discounts from a specific website? A web form would enable the user to enter their personal information to receive the promotions and discounts. Another interactive feature would be a drop down menu that allows the user to search through subdirectories with only using their mouse. A drop-down menu that allows the user to view submenus improves navigation for websites. Alert boxes and pop-up windows are other forms of interactivity that forces a person to knowledge the message by clicking a button. Alert boxes are useful if the web developer needs to get a user's attention.
