As we all know using copy righted material without permission and even written consent can end up nasty. When something is copy righted it has an owner who has the rights to that said name, item, television show, movie, etc. When someone else uses this work they can easily be sued and even sent to jail. In web page design this can also be a problem because the different forms of media can be taken and posted on say your web page and you really do not have rights to that material. Even though the practice is dangerous and illegal many people still go ahead and copy right infringe others work without even thinking twice (pirates come to mind when discussing copy right infringement) for their own gain and sometimes even for profit. One incident that springs to mind is the copy right battle between the guy who took pictures the AP (associated press) had rights to and modified them to his liking to make a new form of content.
