WAN design is a very important part of over all network performance and if not properly done, it will cause network degradation and loss of production which means loss of money to big corporations who rely on technology to streamline their daily functions. We will briefly describe the best practices for designing a WAN between office locations. When creating and designing WAN connectivity between one or more remote offices back to a central location, it is critical to separate each location in to their own perspective LANs and begin analysis of each locations required needs and functions. WAN design can be very easy or very difficult depending on the facts gathered in the preliminary analysis. I am going to design a WAN between two locations back to a home office. The first step is to gather all business functions of each location to try and determine bandwidth requirements and try and minimize latency and bottle necking on the network. Its also critical to have current user count that accesses the network and their daily applications used. Most will use email and basic file/folder drive sharing, but there could be some that do a lot of financial functions or FTP large
