Computer networks are essential to modern organizations for many reasons. Networking computer systems enable organizations to be more flexible so they can adapt to rapidly changing business conditions. Networks enable companies to share hardware, computer applications, and data across the organization and among different organizations. Networks make it possible for geographically dispersed employees and work groups to share documents, ideas, and creative insights. This sharing encourages teamwork, innovation, and more efficient and effective interactions. Networks are a critical link between businesses and their customers. Two major types of networks are LAN (Local Area Networks) and WAN (Wide Area Networks).I understand that basic telecommunications systems are composed of computers, which act as transmitters and receivers of information; communications processors (for example, modems); communications channels and media; and networking software. Some of the major types of transmission technologies are Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL), and Cable Modems which are
