Business Communication Trends John McBride Axia College University of Phoenix Business Communication Trends Have you ever stopped to think about the role communications plays in our day-to-day business activities Communication, as defined by Dictionary.com, is the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs (Communication, 2009) Communication is a two way process that includes the out process of information such as speaking, and the in process of information such as listening. In this paper we are going to discuss the role of business communication and what it plays in my day to day activities, how these roles help manage my daily activity, different trends I saw at a previous place of employment, and the message results from the trends. In 1999 I made the decision to join Americas elite force. As an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps, communication was vital. I dont use the word vital lightly either at times, our communication ability could be the one thing that kept us alive. Everything we did involved communication between members. Our verbal communication skills were a vital part of the mission just as much as our non-verbal and our ability to receive information. Prior
