The three types of different family forms that I chose are adoptive families, singlehood, and stepfamilies. The first one that I will be discussing is adoptive families. There are many kinds of adoptions that are available, for example: “domestic adoptions, international adoptions, adopting a family member, or adopting children who have been legally removed from their parents” (Vissing, 2011). The challenges for adoptive families include the biological parents and reunions with them, the cost, the process, and not to mention getting along with that child. Sometimes, though, there will be no challenges and everything will go “smooth” (Vissing, 2011). The second type of family is singlehood, which is when a person “never married”, and are not in a “relationship with a significant other”, plus they live alone (Vissing, 2011). Being single can mean many good things, such as you get to make your own decisions about things at home without having to worry about what you significant other will say. Being single can mean more money to do fun things, like vacations.
