High school students will spend the majority of their time online viewing sexual content, such as sexy pictures and pornography. According to an article by Lisa M. Cookingham and Ginny L. Ryan for Science Direct Journal, sexualized social media content encourages the elevation of high risk sexual behaviors among adolescents. Such content is used to promote the theory of sexual socialization. Sexual socialization is a theoretical process through which sexual behaviors are learned from grouped observations on social media (Cookingham & Ryan, 2014).
