Since the questions have a clear order but are not evenly distributed, it can be said to represent an ordinal, but could also be interval. If the responses are converted to a numerical value, then they would be interval. The Likert Scale used had categories from strongly agree, agree, neither agree nor disagree, disagree, to strongly disagree. The study created is used through Qualtrics and will gather data from students at Southern New Hampshire University in Psychology 510/520. The survey included demographic information such as age, race, and gender. The result of this survey is to see if there is a correlation between sleep and academic performance.The independent variable of my study is sleep and the dependent variable is academic performance. There are additional independent variables such as age, gender, and race which may also play a role in academic performance.
