This report will go over the patient’s recent visit and will discuss the patients’ signs and symptoms, misdiagnosis, and treatments.Recent Visit AnalysisSymptoms and SignsThe patient, Sally Pire has returned to the doctor because she was feeling fine and then had an unexpected start of respiratory symptoms. She was experiencing a fever of 102, a hacking cough, dyspnea, 2-pillow orthopnea, sweating, and chills.MisdiagnosisThe patient was referred to radiology on 06/30/YYYY for a chest x-ray after returning to the doctor with symptoms of shortness of breath, fever, chills, cough, and sweating. The x-ray showed a slight area of infiltrate in the upper lobe of the left lung. The initial diagnosis after x- ray was pneumonia in the left lung field. On 07/05/YYYY the patient had a follow up chest x-ray which showed clearing of the prior lingular pneumonia but also showed consolidation in the lateral section of the middle lobe.
