However, their charge is simple; to recruit students to their institution. Representatives are responsible for recruiting students, as well as considering potential students’ applications. Each institution’s office of admissions is structured differently. Some colleges or universities do not have a designated admission office but do have offices on campus whose duty is to assist with the admission process (Admissions Staffing, n.d.). Where I am employed there is no admissions office. Instead, there are Enrollment Services. They are responsible for not only enrollment but also take on the role of retention; making sure that those students are alerted when they are at risk of failing or have not attended class. The Binchley College Office of Admissions, like so many others, must be sure that its function aligns with the institution and its mission and those that are responsible do the same.The goals of the Office of Admissions at Binchley College are to increase applicants, total enrollment, and recruitment. The Admissions Office consists of four individuals, that include the
