CYB 400 Project One: Security Assessment RecommendationsSouthern New Hampshire UniversityCYB-400-R3488 Security Assessment & Auditing 09:40:32 GMT -05:00Security Assessment RecommendationsThe cybersecurity team at Grey Matter is assessing the systems and assets of BrainMeld, the recently acquired competitor. The team found vulnerabilities after examining BrainMeld's OpenVAS scan report. The team's conclusions will suggest corrective actions for vulnerabilities related to policy updates, scheduled maintenance, and other security issues. Additionally, we will locate and recommend remediation for two vulnerabilities under the Other Security Issues heading. The team will then go over the company's fastest, most effective solution.Security RecommendationsThe recommended remediation steps for Scheduled Maintenance vulnerabilities include updating software and firmware to the latest versions, performing regular backups of essential data, and encrypting sensitive data using robust encryption algorithms and keys. We should also update our Windows Server to the latest version and disable SMBv1. These actions will prevent the exploitation of known vulnerabilities and improve system performance and stability. If we cannot update or disable SMBv1, we can block port 445 or enable SMB signing on the SMB server.
