The hospital must gain the trust of patients, the community, and the families of patients, and by doing so, the hospital must uphold key ethics such as securing patient confidentiality. Keeping patients' information secure is one key ethic to consider in a hospital setting. This includes technical devices that are used to check patients in or to document the patient's visit and other personal information. “The biggest problem with HIPPA compliance today is devices with stored patient health information, i.e. desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, being stolen or lost†(Intraprise Health, 2023). Going through personal medical information without permission and discussing the information is also unethical and a breach of patient confidentiality. This is common because the nurse or professional may be looking into information for someone they know or just looking out of curiosity. No matter the reason, it is dishonest and unethical. Healthcare professionals or HSP, Human Services Professionals, may release critical healthcare
