A psychological test is used to measure variables by using devices or procedures to gather information about behaviors. Measuring and observing an individual's behaviors aids a psychologist in ensuring that there is a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.Tests and assessments are two separate, but related, components of a psychological evaluation. Both types of tools are used to help a psychologist develop a treatment plan and arrive at a diagnosis (“Understanding Psychological Testing and Assessment,†2022).
