It illustrates that information systems are vital for the organizational success and have evolved at a blistering pace ever since their inception. Even so, there are two major topics covered in the course that were of greatest interest. They are “skills needed to participate effectively in information technology decisions” and “people and technology work together.” Thus, this section provides an overview of the two topics, emphasizing how I related to the topics, and how the topics will enable me to be a better and more effective IS professional.The first topic is “people and technology work together.” Here, the major point is that managers should understand how to mesh people and technology to allow effective work processes (Pearlson & Saunders, 2013). It is realized that collaboration is increasingly popular in organizations. The rise of social networking makes most of these needs possible.
