His political career started in 1947 after joining Democratic Party while he served in the United States House of Representatives till 1953. He was elected to Senate from 1953 to 1960. In 1961 he was elected as the 35th President of the United States until he was assassinated on his ride in 1963 (Hogan, 2017). During his lifetime,
