Position paper; Smart and Safe Arizona ActStudent’s nameInstitution affiliationDate The concept in the political world that I strongly oppose is the Smart and safe Arizona Act (SSAA), also known as Prop 2007. The law allows adults over 21 years to possess, transport, purchase, or cultivate recreational marijuana. According to the stated law, one can only possess one ounce of marijuana with no more than 5 grams, usage of marijuana remains illegal in public places, employers have the right to maintain a drug-free work environment, and it is also considered illegal to fly, drive, or boat under the influence of marijuana (Berman and Kreit, 2020). Marijuana, also known as cannabis Sativa is a green flowering plant that is grown in many parts of the world and contains a Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) chemical that alters the state of mind after consumption (Small, 2015). Marijuana has also been used for its psychoactive effects such as inducing consciousness and mood changes as well as calming and relaxing.
