1. Causes of prejudice Prejudices among groups occur when members of a particular group begin to belief or feel threatened by other groups of people. When people begin to feel or belief that their basic resources or means of survival is being taken away or threatened, then, they begin to prejudice or discriminate the members of other group. In other groups or community, a sense of insecurity develops when a new group of people move in to share their neighborhood. This includes fear of being raided or allowing thieves in the community (depending on preconceived biased opinions concerning the new group).
