Performance management is very useful in promoting and rewarding good performance. It is also helpful in identification of performance gaps and addressing issues in good time. Performance Management is a systematic approach to improving individual and team performance in order to achieve organizational goal. Organizations implement Performance management for various purposes and have different steps. One of the most important steps in the performance management is performance appraisal (Armstrong, 2009). Performance management should be evidence based. It is an analytical process in which the factors influencing performance are identified and this is not just about performance measures. Performance management is a systematic process for improving organizational performance by developing the performance of individuals and teams. It is a means of getting better results
