Book ReviewEpstein, D. 2014. The Sports Gene: Inside the Science of Extraordinary Athletic Performance. New York: Current. The Sports Gene: Inside the Science of Extraordinary Athletic Performance by David Epstein is an amazing book as the book has tried to change the way people measure elite athletes and their performances for life time. David is a senior writer for Sports Illustrated by profession and the theme of this book is the “effects of genetics and sports training on human athletism” which was published on august in the year 2003 by Penguin Books. The author has made sure to reveal a manner of what does and does not make athlete best. The book is specially written for the parents, coaches and other individuals who want to know what it takes to be great as a person. The author has explicated the meaning of the prime statement he has used in his book, “the more I practice, the luckier I get”. Here, the author means that he gets lucky due to his efforts and hard work as he doesn’t mean lucky but he means better by practicing harder.
