Urban Poverty Speech What do you see in this picture? I suppose most of you see somebody burning the midnight oil and earning their success. But ever wondered how the poor would depict this image. For starters, they see electricity, light to study at night. They see a comfortable space, a space that is not shared with eight people who all have different agendas for the night. They see money to pay for tuition, they see time to study, they see hope. Urban poverty refers to those who lack a certain amount of material possession including money and live with many deprivations in developed nations or megacities. In other words, urban poverty addresses those who earn a minimum wage which is insufficient to sustain a healthy and minimally comfortable life.
