The Effects of Mindfulness Meditation on Stress and Anxiety in College Students: A Randomized Controlled TrialCartagena, N.L. ABSTRACTThis randomized controlled trial aimed to investigate the effects of mindfulness meditation on stress and anxiety levels in college students. A total of 100 students were randomly assigned to either a mindfulness meditation group or a control group. The mindfulness meditation group participated in a 6-week program that included weekly 60-minute sessions and daily home practice, while the control group received no intervention. Stress and anxiety levels were measured using validated self-report questionnaires at baseline and at the end of the intervention. Results showed that the mindfulness meditation group had a significant reduction in stress and anxiety levels compared to the control group. These findings suggest that mindfulness meditation may be an effective intervention for reducing stress and anxiety in college students. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of mindfulness meditation and its potential
