Classicism And Social Contract

Every individual has some level of freedom to live according to his own wish as per own terms and conditions. This freedom when controlled and protected by the law, so that the personal freedom does not harm others livelihood, is referred as social contract. On the other hand, classicism defines the mental state of the individuals where the individual puts his self interest in the front and searches for the reasons of committing crime and the type of punishment that should be given. For example, if the person robs somebody, the classicism will say that, such an act is the result of self motivation which arises because of self interest. According to the classic school of criminology, “Classicism focuses on identifying the reasons of the crime and identifies the measures to tackle them. These are influenced by probation and parole, because as per them to prevent the future criminal act of the individual, they should be punished. Their actions are chosen by the offenders.
