I will always remember the morning shakeout runs between bagels withthe team, your eccentric lectures, earning your Oreos and pretzels after schoolby answeringbiology questions, and listening to your stories ofgrowing up in the Bronx, eating mud andbrawlingevery day .Y our unique teaching nurtured my interest in both biology and chemistry . Prior to your classes, Ithought learning science meant memorizing a textbook. Yet, you assigned novels, shared historylessons, and even made pig dissectionsand the stenchof formaldehydefun. Slowly but surely ,your methods made biology and chemistry come alive.
