Data Analysis and Quality Improvement Initiative ProposalDenise LacyCapella University NURS-FPX6016Dr. Lisa CoxMarch 13, 20221Data Analysis and Quality Improvement Initiative ProposalQuality improvement initiatives (QI) aid medical facilities and companies to continually evaluate and improve upon the manner in which high-quality and effective care is delivered. Appropriate implementation of QI in health care settings results in better patient outcomes. Reported quality of care that patients receive directly impacts facility ratings and how a facility is perceived within the surrounding community. For true progress to occur quality improvement initiatives must consider all parties involved, implement/utilize up to date technologies, while using evidence-based solutions to improve care quality. Realizing that each healthcare system and their served populations are unique is a necessity when developing a QI. Complexity science offers ways to change our collective mindset about healthcare systems, enabling us to improve performance that is otherwise stagnant (Braithwaite 2018). To enhance the probability of success with a new QI the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (2020) recommends three tips to keep at the forefront; good communication between all affected parties, always start off with small-scale demonstrations, and remember that QI implementation is an ongoing processthat will require reevaluation and restructuring throughout development.
